Job Overview:

Beam is seeking a technology leader to oversee the company’s engineering and development team. This role will manage the resources that are in place as well as lead strategies to improve and grow the technology function as Beam’s scope, goals, and mission expand.

This position is a leadership role within the company and will work closely with the Executive team to help establish strategic plans, set Beam’s vision for growth, and lead the execution of goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide leadership and vision to the engineering department, including managing and developing a team of world-class software engineers and fostering an engaged culture that emphasizes serving our partners and end users
  • Set clear objectives and goals for the technology function, and analyze on an ongoing basis the right deployment of both internal and external resources to achieve department and company goals
  • Lead technical planning exercises and drive the development of our technology roadmap to help us quickly scale
  • Build deep, collaborative partnerships with cross-functional leaders, including creating plans involving stakeholders for appropriate aspects of the company’s technology program
  • Champion an experimental and data-informed mindset that enables us to quickly test new features and services
  • Be a trusted adviser for the executive team on a broad range of topics related to software development
  • Articulate and leverage the VOI (value of investment) in technology to ensure effective delivery of services aligned to the company vision and goals

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Software development
  • An empathetic leader with experience managing tech/development teams to hit ambitious goals
  • Demonstrated experience setting and executing strategic technical plans
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with an entrepreneurial approach and a bias towards action
  • Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of current development and technology trends
  • An understanding of and passion for our product and the problems it works to solve
  • A champion of Beam’s mission, vision, and values

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, company stage, and internal equity. Where a candidate falls within Beam's salary band is determined by skillset, experience level, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role will come with a total compensation package that includes equity shares and competitive benefits. Some of our benefits include:
